Japanese people are going through hard times right now. We have to open our hearts and pray for them in this moments of pain and grieve. Hoping they will overcome this natural calamity soon.

Exceptional Woman

To close this week dedicated to exceptional women, today I want to write about a beautiful Colombian woman who is recognized internationally: Shakira.

Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, record producer and also is a UNICEF goodwill ambassador for her philanthropic work which promotes education and nutrition for children from poor areas in Colombia through her Barefoot Foundation.

This year the Harvard Foundation named her the 2011 Artist of the Year for her contributions to music wich always shows creativity and originality that have been applauded by people from almost all the world.

Shakira deserves the title of exceptional woman because she is greatly admired worldwide for her music and humanitarian efforts.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, I have been reading some biographies of exceptional women. 

I have found Dr. Maya Angelou, poet, author, historian,  professor, actress, playwright, director, producer, and civil rights activist. She really impressed me by her strength, inner beauty and great personality.

Here I have posted one of her beautiful poems to honor all women that are Phenomenal in their day to day lives.
